Degree Sequences

Digital Media courses build upon each other. It is essential to learn fundamental concepts before advanced courses. To get the most out of this program, be sure to take classes in the recommended order to ensure you are building upon previously learned skills and are prepared for each semester.

Note: Students who score below the required levels on state-mandated placement tests in writing, reading, and mathematics must enroll in and complete the appropriate college preparatory courses before they enroll in some required program courses.

AS Degree in Video Production

The AS degree provides students with a strong foundation in digital media video technology. Students learn pre-production, production techniques, post-production, communication formats, effective messaging, storytelling, interactivity, usability, interface design, marketing concerns, and business principles that empowers them to adapt and respond to changing trends. This program allows students to engage in practical, hands-on projects using the latest hardware and editing technologies, software, and equipment to produce visually arresting video projects that communicate effectively and persuasively.

An AS degree in Digital Media Technology Video Production may be completed in five semesters (including one summer semester). Students are required to take at least 20 courses throughout the program. Each three credit-hour course has been carefully designed to introduce and reinforce essential skills that modern video editors need to be successful in the workforce.

AS Degree in Graphic Design

The AS degree in Graphic Design provides students with a strong foundation in digital media that empowers them to adapt and respond to changing trends in graphics technologies. The courses offered represent a comprehensive curriculum that explores artistry, creativity, theories of good design, universal principles, balance, symmetry, lighting, composition, and visual and aesthetic appeal. This program allows students to engage in practical, hands-on projects using the latest technologies, software, and equipment to produce creative image-based projects that communicate effectively and persuasively.

An AS degree in Digital Media Technology Graphic Design may be completed in five semesters (including one summer semester). Students are required to take 21 courses throughout the program. Each three credit-hour course has been carefully designed to introduce and reinforce essential skills that illustrators and graphic design artists need to be successful in the workforce.
